Default Thermogenic effects of food!

Is it true that fat has a less of a thermogenic effect than protein, if so what does this mean. Doesn't thermogenic mean fire. :fire

Yes, fat has less of a thermogenic effect than carbohydrates or protein. This is is why fat can be stored as adipose tissue (fat) rather easily. Dietary CHO on the other hand is not readily converted to body fat, even during period of high intake.

so it other words excess fat will cause more fat accumulation than an equal amount of carbs?
