Default I'm trying to lose weight

Info about me:

I'm 18. I'm around 6'1 and 198 pounds at my heaviest. I am at 24% body fat. I bench every other day and do sit ups. My fat areas are my face, stomach, and my upper legs. For some reason I have these weird like veins on the inner top of my upper leg that are pink and purple and kind of deep I think there stretch marks because there only on my legs and my legs are big. I also have like ripples on my ass but there not colored like these veins on my legs. Is this just excess skin?

My work out:

I bench 115 about 20 times. I do curls of like 65 pounds and I do 100 sit ups.

I dont do much cardio I'll get on the treadmill at a fast walking speed for 45 minutes a week.

Diet:

I don't eat that much. I usually eat one meal aday and a snack or so. I drink 2 sodas a day. I drink alot of water. The foods I usually eat are a slice or two of cheese pizza(not pizza hut shit, a family owned place pizza) and then as my one meal aday I'll eat home cooked chicken, ravioli, mashed potatoes and corn. I DONT EAT SWEETS at all. No candy or cake or anything like that.

What I'm wondering is why i'm not loosing weight, i've been working out for like 6 months and working extra hard these last 3 or 4 months. I'll get down to like 193 but never get any lower. What am I doing wrong? I want to build muscle and loose weight. Should I get on any supplements to help me out?

I really want to be fit for summer so I can take my shirt off when i'm at the beach.

thanks

I am going to comment on your diet because that is where I see the most possibility for change to occur.

First of all, it sounds like you aren't eating breakfast, which could defintely be to your detriment as far as overeating and lowering your metabolism. Start your day off with some oatmeal, a pb + j sandwich, or something with both fiber and protein.

If you can, cut out the soda completely. It is empty calories and is defintely contributing to your lack of weight loss.

Also, it sounds like you are eating too many carbohydrates and not enough protein. You do not need both mashed potatoes and corn in the same meal. Add more veggies, as they will help keep you full with their fiber, and have nutritional benefits as well.

Pay attention to your serving sizes, and use the weight loss tracker here (a very valuable tool).

Good luck in your weight loss endeavor!

Soon2befit,

(yes that was deliberate)

Yes, the products work. Yes, they may help you. BUT...........
Don't buy any yet. Let's get your diet and exercise in check FIRST. One problem many people run into is a subconscious reliance on substances to achieve their goals. You need to teach your inner self that you can do it for yourself. Once this occurs, then you can toss in the supplements to speed up the process.

I am here to promote the products, but more importantly I am here for customer service. I want you as our customer, just not yet. For now, let's help you as friends :-)

Bella made good points regarding diet above. Although the quantity of food you are eating may not seem like much, the caloric makeup and caloric density of the foods basically will ensure that your body stores or holds fat. While it may not seem to make sense, you need to eat more food, more often, but they need to be whole, more natural foods. Think meats, grains, vegetables, as close to plain as possible. That does not necessarily mean gross. Example: In a pre-contest diet, I make chicken parmesan that is delicious (shake and bake chicken breasts, split and stuffed with fat free cheese and mushrooms, topped with a lower sugar tomato sauce).

As for your workouts, bench and situps simply will not cut it. In order to drop fat, you'll need to increase the number of calories burned. Don't get me wrong, my personal opinion is that intense weightlifting is the absolute BEST way to accomplish this. You need to really increase your weight routine and intensity, and/or pickup more cardio.

Well, there's so many things to discuss, I'd like you to get back to us with any specific questions you may have. You're going to be changing that screen name here in a few months.... and I'm a man of my word!

Vitruvian, you define amazing customer service!!!

:2topic We are all behind you and here to help you in any way with your goals. Adding cardio is often really hard for some people. Think about what you do daily, if you walk to classes, walk a little faster, or if you drive to close places, choose to walk. This will get you in the grove of always being conscious of your lifestyle choice. Dont start off tomorrow in the gym and try to run 3mi, because honestly, you may be setting yourself up for a disappointment. Remember we care so keep us updated :)
