Post Increase lean muscle mass yield a higher metabolic rate

An increase in lean muscle mass either by hypertrophy or hyperplasia will cause a persons BMS/ RMR whichever you prefer to use to increase. This means that weight lifting causes either and or both hypertrophy/hyperplasic of muscle. This growth will then in turn speed up your metabolism which results in a faster utilization of calories. :thumbup

isn't this the same idea behind weight gaining as well? just you have to load yourself with more calories to compensate?
