Default Drink more water!

I was eating a lot while at the office, snacking a lot, and I realized that I was probably thirsty instead of hungry.

I looked up how much water I *should* be drinking according to my weight and activity level, and it was about 10 glasses of water. I was lucky if I even got 3 glasses of water a day.

I made a commitment to myself that I was going to drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day about 2 weeks ago. I feel much better, my energy is better, my skin is clearer, my knee doesn't hurt as much AND I've dropped about 7 lbs.

Hey Kate, good to see you.

I drink a lot of water. I have 4 five gallon water bottles that I fill almost every other week. I get the reverse osmosis water from the local grocery store for $.25 a gal.

I think that most problems are caused by dehydration: headaches, muscle aches, tiredness, even wrinkles.

bad time to be in NY huh? unless of course you like snow. it was 45 here in tampa this morning. WTF?!?! and we had a tornado yesterday.

I am terrific, had a great off road marathon in november, and I am getting ready for the one in February. I am putting off a cold long run right now.

And the inlaws are coming in from mexico to stay for christmas.

I really dislike snow . I can't believe it got that cold AND you had a tornado.

Congrats about your marathon. How long are your in-laws staying?

Water sucks, gatorade is better.

Actually if you drink chilled water it uses calories because your body has to work to heat it up. It's not alot, I forget exactly how much though. It may have been 15 per glass, or even 15 per gallon...

a calorie is the measure of heating one cc of water one degree celcius.

problem is, food is measured in kilocalories. so to heat one liter of water from 10 to 20 would take 10 calories (food calories)

Yes but your muscles don't function as well and you cramp. Yeah, you weigh less, but you still have the same amout of fat in you, and your body's normal functions aren't working as well because you need water. I've cut from 207 to 189 in a day and a half before, but it is only something you can do temporarily, you can't function normally that dehydrated.

I see.. well I was just asking because I was drinking plenty of water when I was in my routine, but then after fading out I had slowly stopped drinking so much water.. and my weight has gone down. Im sure it was a combo of not drinking water, and not working out.

your body will hold onto water if you're constantly dehydrated (not just over a short period of time).

I drink V8 as well in the morning to keep my electrolye balance in check. Large quantities of water can dilute electrolytes in your blood.

I tried drinking that stuff once.. Just cant seem to get through it. WAY too salty and tastes far too strange to me. Oh well..

..I should, however, get back to drinking water daily.

V8 comes in a lower sodium version. it needs lime and hot sauce to really taste good.
