Our little girl was born last May. I had been working out pretty regularly (3x/ week) from the beginning of 2007 until her birth. During that time my weight was always between 181 and 183lbs, even though I was getting stronger. I was finally able to bench press more than my body weight right before she was born. After her arrival it was very hard to make time to get to the gym, since baby made the schedule. Well now that she's sleeping through the night I was finally able to get back to the gym. After 4 months of no exercise and, as far as I can tell, roughly the same diet, I weighed 175lbs this morning.

Yeah I wondering how I lost ~7 lbs (12lbs?) over 4 months with no exercise, when my weight didn't change significantly over 5 months when working out 3 times a week.
I'm a dude btw. :)

I bet the stress and the strange hours of being a new Dad would also have the same effect on a male as it would a woman. Its an exciting time, it's also challenging and you're having to modify your life from how it was pre-baby! i.e. sleep schedule, stress, meal times (hehe yours as well as your babys), your downtime where you go to go to the gym that u probably have less of now! Hehe...wait till your little one gets moving around...eek! you'll have plenty of exercise w/o the gym! LOL...Congrats again!!!!

I was just making a joke really. I don't consider any of my weight gained or lost "baby weight".

Once you said that you were a man, it went from normal to funny. hence the ![]() I thought it was odd that a woman was proud that she benched her own weight, but hey...
