Default Sweet potatoes?

Hi everyone! I'm new and I had a question in regards to sweet potatoes. I know that sweet potatoes are not the same as potatoes, and since sweet potatoes are a vegetable, I wonder if they are okay for weight loss? I want to make sure to burn fat and lose weight, and I really really like sweet potatoes. Are sweet potatoes good for dieting? Or should I avoid those, as they could really ruin it? Thank you!

sweet potatoes are a great source of nutrition. I'd say if you like them eat them. I have never been a big fan, but After reading, I might try to gag one down.

Energy 90 kcal 360 kJ
Carbohydrates 20.1 g
- Sugars 4.2 g
- Dietary fiber 3.0 g
Fat 0.1 g
Protein 1.6 g

In 1992, the Center for Science in the Public Interest compared the nutritional value of sweet potatoes to other vegetables. Considering fiber content, complex carbohydrates, protein, vitamins A and C, iron, and calcium, the sweet potato ranked highest in nutritional value. According to these criteria, sweet potatoes earned 184 points, 100 points over the next on the list, the common potato.(NCSPC)

Sweetgirl - I think the biggest is figuring out what you're going to eat with them and make sure you get the right amount of calories in for the day and not go over. Fruits and veggies are good in moderation.

Welcome! I know nothing on the subject, but figured I'd pop in here and say welcome to the forum.

Hopefully you find some good answers to the questions.

Hi everyone! Thanks for the welcome

When I eat sweet potatoes, I just usually steam them or I put them in the microwave and heat it up. I don't add anything on to them -- I just eat it whole, with the skin. Is it a good vegetable?

welcome to the board! They are defintely a good vegetable for weight loss, as they have a lot of fiber and other nutrients. Like Josh said, keep your total calorie count in mind when eating in general.
