my first asthma attack occured indoors, at a gym, in the afternoon (the A/C wasn't turned up high enough). I have found that excercising in the morning is more effective for me, and also helps with my asthma.

Well...when I'm doing cardio it's just that I look at the timer too often, but I'm always listening to music so I can take my concentration elsewhere. The gyms I've been to are always air conditioned so for me any time of the day is just right.

I took the batteries out of my bike. Try covering it up with a towel. You could also try printing off song lyrics to the music you're listening to and covering it with that and follow along with it.

Im no pro at this but maybe some others can chime in... would a chest press benefit our friend here? When I do chest presses alot I knda lose a little of my chest. Just a thought.

Oh and btw guys, about my workout today - I went to the gym with 2 of my friends, which kinda motivated me, did some cardio on the treadmill and stationary bike and I did some weights as well. Pull ups - 3 sets of 10, and I worked on my shoulders and chest - low weights but a large number of reps. I also had a light dinner, and had a sandwich a few hours later, and a light breakfast just now. So what's new for me is working out with weights, and I'm trying to eat smaller, healthier meals more often.
I'll keep you posted and I appreciate all the inputs - and thanks for the tip, Samantha, I guess I'll have to see what weights help me the most.
