Default Leg Press

There are a few machines in the gym, but I am not sure which ones are best or what I should even be doing. I am following what the picture is saying, but I really don't know if I should be squeezing my butt as I do the press.

Help Please!

as a rule of thumb: squeeze and breathe. as you exhale squeeze your butt.

Should I be squeezing? I don't currently squeeze...oh no, am I doing something wrong?

you want to contract the primary muscle you'll be using. One thing you don't want to do is hold your breath while performing an exercise as this increases thoracic pressure (valsalva maneuver). This also happens naturally when you bare down to poo.
