Default Should i go for it?

Hi guys i need a bit of advice:

Over the last 6 months i have started going to the gym seriously, im benching bout 70, squatting 100 and deadlifting 130k.

This might not sound like much of an achievement but i have just gone into my second year of university and am drinking alot and go out drinking 3 or 4 times a week.

I need your advice on whether it is worth taking this - [SW Pharmatex] M1T::Methyl-1-Testosterone
- to increase my lifts and general performance. Or should i just keep up with healthy eating, protein shakes and going to the gym during university until i can guarantee that i am not going to drink alcohol and have 100% dedication over the summer break.

P.S HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY

I agree instead of spending money on supplements try to cut back on the alcohol. To me supplements should be the last thing you do after correcting any other problems you might have in regards to technique as well as nutrition.

This way you can also determine if supplements are having the effect or if it is our change in nutrition and everything else.

I looked into the same product about a week ago actually. I'd say don't, most testosterone supplements are geared toward middle-aged adults, not those of us who are young and still produce alot naturally. I know it's a fake testosterone and shouldn't make you stop producing it or anything like that, but I chose not to take it.

If you're going to use supplements there are better ones to use that will benefit you more.

I am one of those middle aged adults looking at a 154 for a testosterone level. That's low, real low, bad low. If you are a young man in college, there is probably no way that a test supplement will help you, you have enough.

however, I am +1 for the cutting down on the drinking, if it is enough to worry you, it is too much. if you cut back now to normal levels, you can enjoy it later in life. Since I screwed up and drank all mine in the twenties, I couldn't have wine with my family for Christmas.

OP - have you made a decision on what you're going to do in regards to these supplements.

Yeah thanks for the advice, ive decided not to buy the testosterone supplement. Instead ive bought some Applied Nutri RPM to give my workout the bit of extra intensity i think im lacking.

I would love to cut out on the drinking a bit, but all of the social aspect of university includes drinking.

Think i am just going to have to try and improve slowly until summer break where i can put some serious effort in!

6 months of going to the gym and you're only benching 70? When I first started lifting I started around 100 and got to about 175 after a year and 8 to 9 of those months was cutting, it was only from Sept-Dec that I was bulking. Sounds like you aren't dedicated enough and for that, unfortunately supplements won't help.

I think he's in kilograms, which would put his benches at 150 LBS. and a little more manly.

I'm always in favor of staying natural. Not a big fan of supplements. Keep eating as well as you can to try and balance your lifestyle. Drinking a lot just means you have to work harder when you are at the gym - at least while you are at college.

not drinking while going to a university is DAMN hard. I'm in the same situation. I used to be in a fraternity none the less haha.

-Trying only drinking 2 times a week MAX.
-Don't get *ucked to the MAX (drink socially not to blackout haha)
-beer = bad, switch to vodka + cranberry

hope that helped.

Ironically enough, the beer vs. liquor argument is largely inflated.

Vodka:

Nutrition Facts and Information for Alcoholic beverage, distilled, vodka, 80 proof

1 fl oz = 64 calories

Lets say you use 2 oz per drink, 128 calories, plus juice, probably looking at 200-250 calories a drink depending on how big.

Beer (light):

Nutrition Facts and Information for Alcoholic beverage, beer, light, BUD LIGHT

12 fl oz (usual size of 1 beer) = 110 calories

I know I've looked at the nutrition data on some beers and most hover in the 100-150 calorie range per drink. Not to say either is good for you, just food for though...no pun intended.

good point.

my refined answer:

Vodka (80-110 cals depending on brand) + club soda
or
Dry wine (very low calories) for example Savuvingnon Blac or Chardonnay
