Default MIKe30's 30 day log of IGF-2 and NeoVar stack

ok, so i've been working out consistently since late december, and recently been feeling the need to begin to supplement my workouts... tax returns came in and i started looking for what i might like - long story short, today is the first day of my 30 day cycle of IGF-2 and NeoVar stack. These are both Applied Nutriceuticals products and can be found here --> www.appliednutriceuticals.com

I'll be continuing my workouts just as i have been, only now i'll have the supplements to help me out.

right now they go as follows:

Monday: chest
Tuesday: back
Wednesday: legs
Thursday: shoulders
Friday: bi's/tri's
everyworkoutday: abs

more detailed workout routines and numbers will follow as i update the thread...

also, as i looked at these pics i took this morning i realized a couple things...

first is what i really want to work on this month, beginning with the asymmetry in my chest and abs - its really bugging me. i dont know how to go about fixing the chest part but i do plan on doing some extra oblique work on my right side. secondly, is the need to really hit my fore-arms... wrist curls here i come :fire

what i did like bout the pics was the way my back is developing - i'm no back expert but i never get to see my back and right now i'm likin what i see - but dont get me wrong i'm not satisfied. same goes for my shoulders, i think they've been coming along well too.

so without further ado, here are some before pics (last workout was friday afternoon - so not swollen at all)...

completely relaxed...

rest are flexed...

some more back

and some more back/shoulders

meh forearms

got some more pics still - of my legs and profile shots of bi/tri shoulder.... just so sick of uploading (its taking forever) i just may upload them during an update sometime....

still havent decided if i want to take pics halfway through and then at the end, or just at the end... log will be updated 2-3 times/week tho...woot woot

thanks for reading peoples

-mike

edit: forgot to mention, main goal besides bulk/put on more mass, is to just get closer if not hit my end of semester goal of 180lbs. i'm currently at 5'10" 171lbs.

Awesome Mike!

Looking forward to tracking your progress here, man.

Please post any and all questions you have for me, and I'll try my best to get to them ASAP.

Regarding the imbalance you pointed out: It's not obvious, but noticeable since you mentioned it. What kind of work are you doing for chest? If you haven't already switched from bars to dumbbells, that's your first step..... but I am guessing you're on top of that already.

haha, yea i'm pumped to see what happens in the next month too.

the asymmetry is just something that i def notice only because i'm looking at me and i'm probably my own biggest critic - think i'm a perfectionist at heart so yea...

as far as chest since i started training seriously in dec, i've been doing dumbells 95% of the time.... today i did both - and i dont know if its just placebo effect today or not since i just started, but i definately put more weight up than usual.

dumbell flat bench - 85 x 10, 90 x 8, 95 x 6, 100 x 6 i could have done the 90's for 10 but want to keep my reps at about 8 or lower to bulk... previously i have been only able to get up to 95's, and stuggled for 6 - last week i couldnt even put up the 95's tho

this is just an example.... i forget pen & pad to write down my entire workout. i'll def have to remember tomorrow. rest of my workout included dumbell inclines, flat bench straightbar, seated press, butterflys, some cable work, and abs.

good workout, was surprised at how i barely felt fatigued between sets - esp in the beginning.... today i def took less time between sets and still got the weights up.

did back tuesday, shoulders wednesday and bi's/tri's today... cant say i really feel a difference with anything. am puttin up lil more weight than usual but i still think it may be mental. recovery time between sets seems better than normal, again dont know if its just mental - this is only my 4th day on it and the write-up about both supplements on the website says it takes more than a week to actual feel the effects.

on a side note, sleep at night is a lil more refreshing than usual.

I felt notable effects after about 5 days.... but for most it's 10 days or so.

The increased sleep quality, while not an amazing feat, is one of the most underrated benefits of a product like IGF-2. Increased REM sleep will benefit you across the board, in all aspects of fitness, and better yet, life in general.

Thanks again Mike, keep us posted.

ok, been a minute since i posted but that is in part due to the extra long easter weekend and the gym being closed on friday and saturday...

anyway, up until today i'd have to say i havent felt or seen any noticable difference... i have been putting up lil more weight but then again i should be increasing everyweek regardless - perhaps it wouldnt be by quite as much.

since i have the dumbell flat bench example going, i'll keep it up. monday i did:
90's x 11
95's x 10
100's x 8
100's x 6

so it is constantly increasing everyweek which makes me think that maybe i just dont realize how much i do feel?

vitruvian, is there any clearcut way of "knowing" when the supplements are in full effect, or will i just know?

Effects of supplementation among different people are too elaborate to define to be 100% honest. Example: IGF-2 helps me sleep like a baby. A client of mine uses it and it has no sleep effects on him.

The effects you'll have to look for and compare against the past when you weren't using these products include: increased pump, increased endurance, longer lasting pump, faster recovery ability between sets, greatly improved sleep quality resulting in better focus and energy throughout the day, more intense dreams, and more dreams in quantity, gradual improvements in strength moreso than without the supplements, etc.
Basically it takes someone who is in touch with their body to recognize gains and compare them to previous experience. I am confident you'll be able to tell when/if the products are kicking in. The press numbers are hard to tell whether it's muscle memory or supplements helping with those gains.... so you'll personally have to factor in how hard it was to accomplish on either given day, were you able to proceed to the next set any faster, etc.

If I had to make a personal guess, I'd say the differences between those numbers COULD be due to the supplements, but I am confident enough to say let's hold off longer on making the judgment. You'll see results.... no need to rush!

P.S.~ Are you doing a good quantity of complex carbs with or after your Neovar dosing?

i see what you mean about it affecting people differently. as far as sleep, it doesnt necessarily make me sleep more or longer, but the sleep that i do get feels a lot more refreshing.

so far i think there has been a faster recovery between sets and if there is any increase in pump during workouts and inbetween/after its been so minimal or gradual that i havent noticed. with the exception of my forearms. my left one in particular has gotten a lot more vascularity esp during workouts.

so, so far i think the benefits i've felt have been more refreshing sleep, lil more pump during workouts, increased recovery time... and lastly a better gradual increase in weight i'm putting up.

still only halfway through and i hope it keeps getting better. i guess i was expecting it to be a huge difference but its been so gradual or hyped up (by my expectations) that i feel that i want more.

oh and as far as eating the complex carbs w/the neovar - well, i cant tell you if they're complex or not (probably something i should've asked before starting the stack) but i can tell you that i eat like a freakin pig whenever i take it. 2 reasons - 1, the first dose is with my first meal of the day, and usually it consists of A LOT (more often than not, 3-4 eggs, 1-2 bagels or 4-6 pieces of toast, and some waffles) 2, the second dose is after i workout - so i'm really hungry by then and again i stuff my face.

i'll be posting again shortly...

well, yesterday was back day... i had to squeeze it in at the very end of my day because my classes were a bit hectic and i had to write a paper in between them. so it was an hour in and out.

long story short... i got a really good pump. i was pretty excited about it - i was feeling pretty huge afterward :bdance also feel like my muscles are starting to feel harder, more dense. today is leg day, with some extra work on forearms and of course abs. tomorrow will be shoulder day (my favorite!) and i might even post some pictures if i'm stoked about my pump again...

ps... been having dreams like crazy.
