I've recently upped the mileage on my bike. I'm currently riding between 20-25 hours a week and I am starting to feel the gradual effects.
What do you recommend for post-exercise muscle recovery? My current post-ride routine usualy involves this: 1. Stretching 2. Massaging leg muscles. 3. Taking an hour nap with my feet elevated on the beds headboard. What I am mainly looking for is a supplment(s) to aid in my general recovery. I have heard of this, any thoughts? I've heard good things about Cytomax. I believe Lance Armstrong actually recommends it as well....?
One important thing to keep in mind is ingestion of a post-workout meal or drink almost immediately after the bout of exercise. This will allow the nutrients to best be assimilated during the post-workout anabolic window of opportunity. (say that 10 times fast.... lol). Thus, allowing for repair and recovery.
