Lightbulb 5K for 5/5

When you run in races you get pictures like this.

I can't wait till tuesday to do a pulmonary function test. I thought I could have done a 24, but I couldn't breathe.

Thats a pretty good time, I thought the girl in the left hand corner was running with an insulin pump i thought to myself, "wow that is dedication." Then I realized it was a blue ipod mini.

Well, this was last years', and my first 5K. there's about 25lbs difference and 3 minutes. Like I said, I was sick, I will do better. 26 minutes put me 2/3 the way back. the 75 year old man beat me, and all the age group winners 8 to 80 blind crippled and crazy, the all beat me. one thing is to finish, another is to be competitive.

How the hell do you run 3X6:00 miles? I'm lucky to hit a 6 minute mile in a 200M sprint.

You look good, you're still slimming down since the last time you posted pictures. Keep it up!

Thanks for the comments. I find that having something to train for really motivates me. hitting the gym is one thing, but when i was in Karate, there was always a belt test or tournament. When I rode bicycle there was a century to ride. Now there are a few adventure runs this summer, but they are not as competitive for me. I am going to run Disney Marathon, but that isn't until January. With my wife away for the summer, I think a Marathon in August would hit the spot.

I didnt really choose marathons, but I need a crazy goal. next year probably will be an ultra. If I can find someone to help with swimming maybe a tri.

also, I seem to have hit a plateau in my weight loss. The last thing I want to do is count calories, but I am not budging away from 198
