Gasparilla 2008
I am very excited to say that I finished my second Marathon and am very pleased with a chip time of 3:59:11. Looking at my training log, I really didn't ramp it up until the last few months, so i am already looking forward to next year.
It was a beautiful day in Tampa and we had great conditions to run in. nice and cool at the start, getting warmer as the sun rose. Again there was headwind the last few miles, but I prayed and kept moving forward. I have to say, crowd support did help me finish. there were hundreds of children from a Nike run program out lining the street at mile 22, and if it weren't for them I doubt I would have broken 4 Hours. I slapped all their hands like I was Ryan Hall, winning the darn thing. But it was awesome. I got to run with someone from the runners world forum, and she is a professor in Maryland, i will post a link here for her. I forget what her field was but it is sports related. I have dropped about 15 pounds since last years marathon and that made a difference as well. I pushed the wall out to mile 23, next year NO WALL.

That's awesome! Congratulations on breaking that 4 hour mark! Seriously.. very cool.
Also great news to hear about the 15 lbs.. Sounds like things are coming along for you VERY well. Good job man. Keep up the hard work.

 thanks Josh. the wild part is i am back running. I did 8 yesterday and 8 today. Now I have to come up with a new training plan. I got a new job. I'll be doing the 9-5 thing so I will become one of those wake up at 5 people.

Or a sunset runner? I go down to my beach after work around 4-5pm and see people running all the time. If you can't make the 5am wake ups, you might want to look into the 5PM running.

the problem with that is it cuts into family time. Also, those people might be running twice a day, which I may have to expand into as I try to increase mileage.

Ahh yes. True. Family time.
Well, I wake up every morning at 5:30am. Then on the weekends at 7:30am. And I usually dont get to bed until about 11pm. So if I can do it, Im sure you can handle it too. Just stick with it.
