Another Nike+ thread

This time it is about the music that is available at the itunes Store.

I have a few of the music series. Namely the Crystal method-Drive, Aesop rock, Endurance training, and speed training.

The lines on the cover give a notion of the heart rate that is going to be trained. Coach Alberto Salizar comes on over the music to time out the intervals.

Pluses:, Crystal method put together a seamless 40 minutes to run by, with supposedly a gradual increase in intensity. Alberto comes on for his deal and times out some intervals and gives a bit of motivation for a few seconds at the half, thirty second and end of the intervals. Real helpful if you don't want to have to look at a watch and figure out times.

Minuses: if "block rockin beats" or "busy child" is in your ipod, this album will dull you to sleep before it motivates you to run. And what ever Alberto got paid, he ripped Apple off. I could come up with better motivation. I thought he'd talk about running, or give some secret running tips, nope. He just counts out the intervals. So does my polar HRM.

The music sucks. I hate rap, especially bad rap. for $15 you would think that apple would put quality music together. The have thousands of playlists from users to follow and they hand out this crap, and want people to pay too? thank god for torrents.

Summary: I don't usually run with music, but I wanted to hear Alberto's coaching. i was missing out on both parts. I could put together a non-stop mix using the titles I saw in another thread and use my mike to count out an interval. the music would kick butt, and i could give more talk than "OK 30 seconds left, really push it now." Voted, Super lame.

Im quite a music enthusiast and I will RARELY trust anyones pre-built mixes. If you build it, you'll love it. Make yourself some new fun stuff to listen to.

Yeah, it's pretty cool. Still trying to find that nano though for running. I went it and got suprised with a nice price decrease.

and me, the opposite. Todasy I get an email that the 8G nano has video now, for the same price. I'd like to see it in person, the 2nd gen looks a lot more compact. I really don't need video for running.But the price thing is an ass kicker.

Yeah.. I'm soon to go eBay shopping for refurbished OG style big white iPod's. I bought my black 4GB Nano when they first came out. I enjoyed it.. but now I kick myself that I spent so much money on the thing.. I should've just bought and old style one back then.

Oh yeah. Definitely agree with you there. I've gotten SOOO much use out of this thing. I've easily gotten my money's worth.
