Default dammit, another injury

Injured my knee at school on Thursday afternoon. It sounds lame, but I injured it by standing up from a squat. I was in immense pain and could not straighten my knee, so I went to the ER. They gave me an X Ray, which came back normal, as well as a knee splint after having me straighten my knee.

I will be going to an ortho surgeon tomorrow to see what soft tissue is exactly damaged. I got off my crutches yesterday and have increased my ROM (range of motion) to about 90 degrees. I am also icing it 3x daily.

I can put a little weight on it, but I can't bend and put any weight on it. I am currently wearing another more flexible brace. I still have a hard time driving, as I can't hold down the brake for extended periods of time, nor do I have the ability to press down on the brake hard if there was a need to.

Wow best of luck, sometimes injuries can be hard to figure out what is wrong due to the onset on acute pain and swelling. Def let us know what the outcome of this is.

my best advice is stick with PT, no matter "easy" you think it is, its designed ot help you so take advantage of it. I with you nothing but the best and hope you recover SUPER fast. i hope you remain active on EFF eventhough you wont be able to be active, your input, esp. re: cooking, is outstanding.

i hope you feel better!!!!!

In my experience working as an athletic trainer, their is a lot that rehab can do. Especially depending on how severe it is.

update:

I drove for about 2 hours today. I was in a lot of pain when I came back home, but it was a huge improvement over Tuesday when I couldn't even drive 2 blocks.

Just got back from rehab. It was not fun at all, the nurse put me through a few excercises that were pretty painful :(. At the end of the session, I got anti-inflammatory medication trans-dermally right to the site of my knee. I would not have been able to drive unless they did that. I am supposed to do the excercises at home.
