Default Shaw's Internationally famous 3 bean and turkey chili

Shaw’s 3 bean and Turkey chili recipe

1 lb ground turkey (not fat free)
1 can black beans (Drained)
1 can dark red navy beans (Drained)
1 can Bush’s chili magic starter (or equivalent, not drained)
1 can corn
1 large can of diced tomatoes (not drained)
½ green pepper
½ large onion
Seasonings:
2 tbs chili powder
1 tbs cumin
1 tbs dried garlic
1 ts black pepper
1 ts cilantro or a good amount of fresh
1ts cayenne pepper (this will make a hot chili, if you do not want hot omit this)
Olive oil

In a large frying pan, high heat, coat bottom with olive oil, add diced green pepper, onion and the dried garlic. Caramelize the onion and reduce the heat, add the turkey in one solid lump. It will crumble when cooked. Sprinkle about half the spices onto the turkey.

In a large pot combine the wet ingredients and the rest of the spices, simmer on low heat.

When turkey is cooked on one side, crumble and stir it. When turkey is fully cooked, add the pan to the pot and continue simmering for about 10 minutes.

Serve over rice or with tortilla chips. In a bowl cover it with fat free cheese. I do not use salt, but you can salt to taste.

It will make about six 2 cup servings. Each serving will fill a sandwich sized glad container. I make it on Sunday and eat all week.

turkey chili is way better than beef chili imo. It's way less greasy and most people can't really tell the difference between turkey and beef when it is in a chili. I sometimes like to add some crumbled tofu to top my chili.
