Default Breakfast!

One of the best breakfasts is regular/plain oatmeal. Although flavored tastes great, it isn't great for you. So grab a mug, throw .5 cup of oats, about a cup of water and microwave. Adding nuts such as pecan halves or walnuts are healthy alternatives to getting a bit of taste.

With the foundation of a good breakfast, anyone can tackle the day

You may also notice many of those "performance enhancers" list Avena Sativa as one of their major ingredients. Avena Sativa = oats.:thumbup

i agree, oatmeal is pretty good
its better than something like cereal of some sort which causes like mucous to form in ur throat=bad for runs/workouts

Maybe it can also be caused by the type of milk. Personally I cannot drink anything besides Fat Free Milk because I too feel a build up of mucus in my mouth and throat. Switing to Silk Milk (and other types of Soy based milk replacements) has eliminated this problem for me.

bleh, my ex gf would only let me get 1% and it was way too watery, she liked fat free, and i've drank 2% for the last 21 years. but i could see how the thicker milk would coat your throat and feel like mucus (like how you're not supposed to drink milk when you're sick)

I do the same thing... just with a bit more than you. :thumbup Pecan's are fantastic in it! A bit of dried cherries is great too, just skip any other sugar if you add those.

I actually like Silk (soy milk). I can't stand regular milk for what ever reason...

i like silk milk so much more. not only does it last longer than regular milk (expiration dates are usually a month or two after the date you bought it at the store), its better tasting IMO.

it has a very sweet taste, there are other options also though, almond milk, rice milk, etc.

I got so tired of eating plain oatmeal, I never wanted it again. BUT, didn't wanna let it go. I started putting a tablespoon of peanut butter in there, and it actually tastes pretty good. Not talking the sugar filled JIF stuff, but the all natural reduced fat kind. Give it shot!
