Anyone do any winter outdoor sports?
Do you do anything outside during winter? We had the summer thread about what you do, but what does everyone do when it's cold out and possibly snowing/raining?

Since Im southern CA, we don't really have traditional winter, so I still do the same ocean fun. Bodyboarding and surfing. As of last Christmas, I now no longer need to rent my snowboarding gear though, so Im hoping this year I will get in a decent amount of snowboarding.

I'm going to start ice skating downtown. I think i'm going to purchase a pair of skates this winter. We have an outdor ring over here.

Oh nice. I've been ice skating once when I was little. That was very fun.. except everytime I fell, I'd get freezing cold and wet.

When I went to go ice skating in a rink before my buddy checked me into the glass they have for hockey. The glass broke off and I went flying over.

You're telling me. I think it was my second time ever ice skating and he was my roomie in college he was from France and was a pro inline skater. So naturally he was a good ice skater also.

hahha Nice. I remember my mom was sitting there watching me and my sister and I was getting all comfortable with going quickly then turning to the side to spray a little ice up.. Well, me being the little kid I was, I wanted to show off my new skills so Im like "mom! watch!" Im gaining speed going straight towards her then I slam to the side, skates stick and I fly forward instead of the ICE flying forward. Slam.. Ouch.. my pride.

what's winter?
I used to ski and snowboard years ago when I lived in CT. Back then snowboarding was new. I don't Ice skate well. I cant believe it has been almost 10 years since I've skied. Wheres the old man and the walker smilie?

Yeah, we need that one.. this is like the second or third time Cabezon was in need of it..
and Cabezon, I believe the definition of "winter" for us is when the beach has less people on it and when you can turn off your fans/AC for more than an hour.
