It works great as a grill the grooves are pretty thick so the juices and fat drips down, so much nicer than the foreman heats up evenly. I actually just cooked a tri tip in it the other night which i normally BBQ came out amazing.

that's awesome that you have found an electric grill that works well. I followed the link and the grill got very mixed reviews.

*looks in cabinet*

I have a Henckle Pro 8", I would love to get the 10", but I got some generic kitchen 10's that work well.

OIne tool that I would put on the list is a hand blender. it has a wisk and a chopper attachment along with the blender head. that thing is aweso0me for shakes, but it is really great making sauces right in the hot pot. zoom!

One tool that most americans dont have is a lemon squeezer, but I married a mexican, so we had to get one. it makes putting lemon juice on things a snap. But that is not a basic tool, unless you cook mexican.

I need a grill pan. I do have a pan with wiffle holes in it for roasting tomatoes and peppers, do you ;)

funnels, cant forget the funnels. for putting powdered mix into bottles, and hot sauce from big bottles to portable ones.

the one thing that I have never had though are pot holders.

I put immersion blender (hand blender) on the list of electrics, and yes, they are very handy. I use them all the time at school to puree sauces in the pan, as well as to make ganache and smoothies.

A citrus reamer is handy if you are using citrus juices on a normal basis. I get by OK without using one at school, but they are inexpensive and save a lot of time.

I just use kitchen towels as pot holders. I fold them in half and then in half again. They seem to work ok.

If I am roasting tomatoes, I just put them on the sheet pan and directly in the oven. Peppers I roast directly on the burner (note: this works with gas ranges only).

you cant hit the filler neck with the bottle? I havent used a funnel since the old cans (anyone remember those?)

not a citrus reamer, but an item that looks like a big garlic press.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I prefer reamers to the juicers, as they seem to get out more juice.

The pans don't really matter a whole lot, I get by with cheap aluminum professionally. At home, it is easier to clean stainless steel, anodized alumnium or enamelized cast iron.
