Men also have it. It's not as highly publicized and there are not as many cases, but there are a substantial ammount of men/boys suffering from Anorexia, Bulima, EDNOS, Body Dismorphic Disorder, Disordered Eating, etc. I don't remember the stats on it, but if you search pubmed and various psychological academic journals you'll find your answers.

Their been a lot of studying and surveys that show a large percent of males do suffer from disordered eating. I though disordered eating around rather than eating disorders because DE is the first step before eating disorder and there are actually firm guidelines that state what ED's are.
A lot of athletes especially weight restricted sports suffer from disordered eating. |

i cant help but stress over my body. when i was a few years younger i was very unhappy and overwieght, that changed once i shed the pounds..more confidence and happiness, but i started watching what i was doing as far as eating is concerned. i still am unhappy with where im at so thats why i work so hard.

Late last night I got very sad...I ate an entire tray of Baklava which is about 1,200 calories and I wolfed down almost half a carton of chocolate brownie ice cream...then I thought "what the heck, I already blew it" and I ate more Flamin hot cheetos... When I woke up this morning I felt like a truck hit me...I felt hungover...
Eating disorders are not fun. I have not done this since last spring when my boyfriend of 3 years and I finally brokeup for good...I feel awful:( But positive, today is a better day as will be tomorrow and hopefully the day after.

sportsmedjosh is correct, an eating disorder is more than just an occasional binge or two. in fact, many individuals will have a binge now and then but an eating disorder is a persistent pattern of behavior that interfers with the individuals' daily lives and social interactions. it sounds like all you did was binge eat (no compensatory actions) so please use the term eating disorder with caution as it might spark opinions, belifes, and emotions from individuals who have been diagnosed by a health care professional with having a form of an eating disorder.
