Default NutriSystem anyone.

What do you guys think of NutriSystem. I want to try it but is it unhealthy

I know alot of people use it to learn portion size and how to eat right. I wouldn't stay on it for more than 4-5 months, but I would love to hear what you have to say.

You know my mother actually went on this and she had good results I never really got to take a good look at how the system works but from talking to her it appears that they send you a list of items you can have as well as food to eat. But the majority of stuff she has is stuff she buys on her on to eat throughout the day supplementing it with the food they give her. I believe it's 1 package or 2 package a day.

It also seems that they really limit the amount of CHO (carbs) that an individual is allowed to take in.

What are your other avenues you've explored, have you tried other methods. How many calories are you currently consuming?

All those gimmicks just teach you portion control which you can do on your own. Go buy some measuring spoons/cups and a food weigher and it will be a lot cheaper. The points systems that they use just substitute counting calories with counting points, but its the same thing. I bet if you divided out the amount of calories per point its probably uniform across the board. Just track your caloric intake, measure your foods to teach yourself portion control. I use FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal, i know people who use myfooddiary.com or something like that as well. both are free
