Xenobiotic is on a distinguished road
Default So how long do you have...?

So, I've been wondering. Say you eat something with things like honey, fruit, or some other sugary substance. How long do you have to burn off said sugar before it starts forming itself into fat?

I know I've heard that after a workout, its best to get protein within the first 45 minutes of your last rep, and at the most 2 hours (that sounds pretty long to me, I always try to get it instantly).

So, is it a similar time? Maybe 45 minutes or so? Or is it different for every body and how long it would take?

There are a lot of different responses to this question but it also depends on what sort of sugar is consumed. Refined sugars get absorbed immediately upon ingestion. Which is why you would get a insulin spike shortly after consuming those sugars. Look at it as a different fuel source for your body.

The big pictures is the total amount of calories you are consuming vs the amount of calories your body is burning.
