well my goal is to get down to a lean 145-150 (i'm 5'9-5'10 and i'm currently 175). Right now, I'm lifting weights out 3 times a week, and trying to run for 30 mins each day at the park with a sweater on.

My diet isn't the greatest but its to just cut calories, it basically consists of cereal(post honey bunches of oats) for breakfast then some fruit an hour or two later then for lunch its basically a fruitcup or a salad, then after that its more fruit/veggies (yeah i know its alot of fruit) then for dinner i just eat some tuna alone (chicken of the sea, bagged version) or some steamed chicken breast w/o skin.

well i'm looking for suggestions on how to improve and speed up the weight loss and muscle toning process. I know it should be a slow process but i'm willing to pull thru the crappy food and the exercise.

Hmm.. Im no professional.. but I would suggest more running. As far as I could recal; the way to lose weight is to be able to burn off more than your taking in. If you can keep the running up (maybe push yourself a little farther), I think you are on a good track.

It takes time. You dont want to do it in an unhealthy way.

Good luck. :) Keep us posted on your progression.

Oh and lets see what Josh and the others have to say about it.. I'm still new with all this stuff, so I could be incorrect.

sounds like your serious about this, here is my suggestion to you. I more than likely sound like a broken record now. Post what you ate for the last 3 days in a thread for your nutrition. This way we can really see where you are at. 2 lbs/week is the high end of healthy that is suggested to lose.

Running with a sweater is great if you want to lose weight for a weight regulated sport like wrestling but all your going to be doing is losing water weight so ditch the sweater and just go for you run. You'll be able to do better and go farther without sweating away all your extra fluid.

Exercise should be a supplement to proper diet to lose weight. :wave

You sound like a wrestler to me. "Weighed in," wanting to lose weight. Does your state have hydration testing, if you are a wrestler?
