Default Hi Everyone =)

Hi Everyone.
My name is Cathy.

My friends Cindy and Josh referred me to this forum over from the other forum they run: FAF.

I've browsed through many of forums and topics and WOW, this place is full of useful information and tips. It's actually quite overwhelming to me as I don't know the first thing about fitness.

I'm 5'5 and about 26lbs from my goal weight. I eat really unhealthy so I've been trying to change that by cutting down on sodas, candy and desserts. And also by adding more veggies, fruits and oatmeal to my diet. I'm in a rush right no so I can't go into much more detail right now. For now I just wanted to post and introduce myself.

Hey welcome so nice to finally see you on this side. =)

Anyways it seems that you're off to a great start. Cutting out unhealthy foods makes such a big difference. Even if you only did that you would see results as fast food is often loaded with tons of calories, fat, and sodium.

How long ago did you cut this stuff out?

It's good that you realize you don't eat healthy, most people don't realize that they are eating unhealthy. You should watch SuperSize Me to see the toll fast food can take on you.

Welcome. Don't worry about how overwhelming it may feel. I was the same way when I came here. Im no expert.. but I sure have learned a lot. Just take it step by step and you'll figure it out.

And as LeagueChamp said above, its good you realize you are needing a change in diet. I usually dont like scare methods, but honestly.. even I changed how often I ate fast food after that movie, Supersize Me. (and I'm a skinny kid who looves fast food) It's pretty crazy.

Anyway, enjoy the forum. Hopefully the info here is helpful and we can encourage you to keep it going.

Agreed there is a lot of info here that is presented two ways with an indepth physiology explaination and one that is just surface. If you ever need or want anything explain either way just let us know.

welcome! Defintely post up a little more about your diet. I thought I was eating healthfully, but my portion sizes were out of control for a while.
