Hey right now I am on the down slope of what was a good run of losing fat and gaining muscle. Between Oct 06-March 07 I lost 30 lbs. Then I hit a wall, and it all just sort of stopped. I joined a gym that I hate because they have one goal in mind and that is to make money so the trainers dont leave you alone and they make you feel like youre a piece of shit and youre gonna die. I am unmotivated to go back there. I was a member of an awesome gym back where I went to school but since being home for the summer it hasnt been as conducive to getting fit. I work at a roofing distribution company, so that heavy lifting is my only saving grace from becoming a lazy fat again. I need help. MOtivation comes and goes, and thanks to the trainers at -this big global chain like globogym-I have no idea where to start.

post up about your diet, that is normally the first (and easiest) thing to modify that will help you with results.

Yeah Im back to trying to figure out my diet. I eat alot of whole wheat sandwiches througout the day.
Heres an example. 6:30am-Breakfast: whole grain cereal, maybe some toast. 8:30am-Half a whole wheat sandwich with some sort of meat (pastrami, ham, turkey) and some chips 10:30am- the other half and more chips 12:30pm-start on the other sandwich, finsih my chips 2:30pm-the last half sandwich 5-7pm-Dinner- Fish, hamburger on the grill, pasta, whatever is good. Cottage cheese at night, maybe some chocolate milk I also supplement with whey protein (need to more though) I drink alot of water (roofing is hot) My problem: I have slip ups probably 2 ddyas a week when IM out on a job and Mcdonalds is oh so good. And when I go out and grab something, I BASH. ALOT OF FOOD. its horrible. I need to stop but a milkshake after getting off a roof tastes so good. Thanks probably my worst thing. PLus Im so tired I need to push myself to get abck into the gym. |

Defintely add some more protein at breakfast, like maybe some PB on your toast. Add some veggies (salad maybe?) with your sammiches. I like to eat more in the morning to give me the energy I need for the rest of the day, as school and work is very physical for me as well. As for McDonald's, there are good things that you can order there, the salads are not the best choice, calorie wise because of the dressings and the fried chicken. A plain hamburger with a side salad is a good idea to order there, as well as some bottled water.

Thanks for the replys everyone. I eat a divided up small bag. I only take a little baggie full and eat those throughout the whole day. I actually got hungry today which is no good. I need to bring another sandwich I think.
Also, I went to the gym (yes that one) tonight. I just put on some headphones and did what I knew I could, without worrying about the trainers. I had one follow me around tho it was weird. I did chest and abs and some cardio. I did 20 min. 10-20min less that what I was at a few months ago, but, Im going to try and gain some muscle here so Im not sure if 30min is too much? The one cool thing about the gym. I watched Spongbob Squarepants on my personal treadmill TV. |

well im sorry to hear that the gym is being evil to you.
but at least the TVs are cool (mine just got some in too and they are AWESOME) i am looking to put more muscle on and loose some fat so i did a quick 10min run yesterday and 30min of weights/abs am a def sore so ithink 30min is a good ammount of time for lifting. |
