Default Kerri's Goals

It's time to get serious.
I've lost 5 pounds so far in 2 weeks. I am encouraged!
It's my hope to loose at least 15 pounds by July 4th.
I'm now at 155lbs. I stand 5'3" and I carry my weight in my gut.
I'm stoked about the new food keeper thing being set up on the forum.
I want to consume a well rounded diet.
I plan on tracking everything I put in my mouth and will try to stay within the caloric range in order to loose a pound or two a week.
I will do some type of cardio every other day for 20-40 minutes and on the odd days I was thinking about pilates and weight training.
My stomach is wacked because when I was 18 I had a child that I gave up for adoption- I'm disclosing this info to give an idea why my stomach may appear wonky! I know excercise can't correct this and I plan on having some type of cosmetic surgery in the future.

I'm fed up with my weight and have made a committment to myself to do something about this!

I'll post pics soon...

Any suggestions and feed back would be appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Kerri your goals seem reasonable, I'm also working very hard to get these functions up for you guys to test out.

Kerri please keep us posted on your progress because it will be beneficial to all of us. We're all learning here together:) Your weight loss goals are very attainable and your fitness goals are reasonable. From experience, may I suggest to keep on the "move", meaning take those extra steps whether it means parking the car a little further from the store, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. I have a friend who used a pedometer and actually challenged herself to increase her steps. She shed weight quickly and with ease. Remember to drink at least eight glasses of water a day too.
Oh, this may sound silly but it works. To avoid late night snacking on comfort foods, brush your teeth and gargle. The feeling of fresh breath and clean teeth usually will cause most individuals to rethink that late night snack.
Hang in there and remember the positive small changes you make today will in the long run become lifelong habits that will help to benefit you and your health!

Keep up the good work, and good luck.

Give yourself at least one free day every week to two weeks. It's better to indulge 1 day out of 7 than get so burned out you give up all together :)

Loosing weight is not only a decision, but a total lifestyle change. Although it can be tough, you are going to feel so much better (not just physically, but emotionaly) that it is entirely worth it.

Last piece of advice for now: Accountability! Find someone who is going to push you, and do your best to surround yourself with like minded people. That's not to say that you need to ditch all your old friends, but make sure that you do know people who understand what you're trying to accomplish and are going to help you, not drag you down.

What you can acheive on your own has barriers, what you can acheive with the help of others is limitless.

Good luck.

I'd wait till you tone up for any cosmetic procedures. Try nature first :)

dont let the stretch marks freak you out. with dramatic weight loss youll get them too. just work out and eat right then once you hit your target weight you can consider plastic surgery. if you want kids in the future most plastic surgeons will recomend against a tummy tuck until AFTER you have your kids. in fact, there are doctors who suggest you have a c-section then following birth a plastic surgeron will step in and give you a tummy tuck....so essentially youll have one scar.

there are also some skin tightening creams that might work out for you. talk with your doctor and see what (if anything) they can recomend. also going to a drug store and looking through some of the isles of creams and what not you can get a feel for what is out there.

Actually I did alright. I didn't journal all my foods but I made a conscious effort to not have seconds and to wait and chew my food slowly.
I switched to 1% instead of 2% milk and I'm now using pam spray for cooking instead of butter or shortening.
I plan on doing better this week.
I did walk for about 30 minutes yesterday and today I did a pilates tape for 20 minutes and danced around in my bedroom for about another 20 minutes.

How was the BBQ (not sure if it happened yet) and did you work out at all? Any progress or slip ups...I can never keep a diet when I go to a BBQ --> the chips keep calling my name!
