Don't get discouraged, Kate. This happens often. My weight fluctuates depending on the time of the month and such and is reflected at times by varying numbers on that darn scale:(
As females sometimes we retain water, become bloated etc.
Try not to rely on the scale at this point, but rather on how your clothes feel on your bod. Continue as you are doing because these positive changes you are making will add up and the weight you desire to lose will shed itself in due time. Persistance I believe is the key to success. Push forward and know in your mind that you've made a commitment and life change and in the long run your health and bod will reflect this decision and these changes.
That's awesome that you walked to and from work.
Again, don't be discourged and maybe wait to weigh yourself again after your next cycle.

I hear you, Kate. I started at around 160lbs too and I've lost 5lbs but I'm a little worried about getting back on that scale and seeing the number rise

this is normally the point that i get extremely frustrated and get back into my bad eating habits, not excercising, etc. Ugh.

dont get fustrated, we are here to support you! you can do it this time, dont let that # on the scale fool you. try on some clothes and see how they feel, let that be the judge of your progress!

my clothes do fit better, but marginally better. My butt is harcore sore from walking yesterday.

changes typically take a month or so to appera. Have you looked into using our weight loss tracker program in the second nav bar?

the weight loss tracker is awesome and i think you could really benefit from it. seeing something telling you that what you are doing is correct and that you are on the right track is so encouraging. again, DH is right, you cannot give up now, your clothes are fitting better and pretty soon youll be saying wow i need a smaller size. dont give up and we are all supporting you!

So I stepped on the scale at work today, and I am now 160! I've lost two pounds this week!
