Default Shaw's Goals

I don't think I ever wrote them down.

I want to be healthy, through good diet and exercise. In support of that I enjoy running, lifting weights, and various other activities that I enjoy or have enjoyed, such as bicycle riding, swimming and Karate.

My current body goal is to lose fat and excess weight so that I might train easier for Marathons. My next two scheduled marathons are in November and february. By my estimate I am 15 pounds overweight.

I am happy with my muscularity, but would like to support my endurance training by building and repairing my muscles in balance, with a strong core, to maintain my health in all aspects such as tendon and ligament strength, joint stability, and longevity.

While I am happy with my appearance, I would like to maintain bone density and muscle mass in preperation for the normal aging process through resistance training. I also understand that my physical appearance may be enhanced by increasing muscle mass in a symmetrical manner, this is not the primary goal.

I eat in a manner that allows me to maximize health and performance, while at the same time allows me to enjoy eating. I supplement where I can, and I am open to innovation.

cliffs: Primary goal, health
actions to achieve goal: endurance training, resistance training
seconday motivational goals: to lose 15 pounds, to run a sub 4:00 marathon in February, to qualify for Boston.

it's 11 weeks away.

I have finished 12 weeks of low heart rate base running and have my weekly averages over 25 miles. i ran 6 miles last night and did 4 X 3 minute intervals and it felt great to be up to speed again.

I guess I should have said what my weight was. I am down to 177 and saturday, I put on some 32" jeans. Kick ass! down from 215 and 38".

and I got the 3:59 marathon too, BQ here I come
