Default Duke's Situation (Friend of Rakshas)

Greetings;

I'm almost 18 years old, have been lifting seriously for more than one year.
I'm 5'11", currently 140lbs.

I got started with football conditioning. I was lifting regularly as well as doing plenty of agility drills and running, the usual stuff. I was taking Cytosport Cytogainer. By the time two-a-days rolled around, in August I gained 10 pounds and weighed 140.

Then the regular season started, and I maintained bulk pretty well even without the Cytogainer. Around playoffs in november, That's when my legs started shrinking. I dropped down to below 135. We didnt lift for about three weeks, but upon resuming, I got swole again.

Ever since then I have been lifting dedicatedly, but I'm still confused as to why my ankles, calves, knees, hamstrings, wrists, elbows, and hands are all continuting to get lankier.

I workout five days a week.
Lower body workout covers - Squats, deadlifts, leg presses; machines for adductors, abductors, hamstrings and quads
Upper body includes - bench presses, dumbell presses, flys, cleans, jerks, military, dumbell curl burnouts, cable lat pulldowns, overhead triceps extensions, bar dips, pull-ups.

And other stuff that I decide to get creative with.

Sometimes I get swole up real big after a workout, other times I dont swell up at all and feel like Im back at square zero.

1) I'm curious if anyone has anything to say about what my body is doing and what I'm doing to my body
2) What do you guys have to say about Cytogainer with creatine? I havent taken it since hell week because of my mom
3) Rakshas and I are about to start lifting together, and our routine is up in hte air. I dont like working out in sundays and I would prefer that the workout for each day doesn't shift.

Please Advise!

I forgot to mention, I am much stronger now and heavier than ever. My body just quite often is janky.

What days are you working what body parts. Put up a Monday - Sunday protocol. Which will gives us an idea of how many times a week your hitting these muscle groups. Also how many reps and sets are you putting up with these exercises.

i take cytogainer and i enjoy every bit of it..its not only loaded with carbs. calories, and protein but it has glutamine and creatine..since ive started taking it about a month ago ive gained almost 5 pounds and my body fat has stayed the same. but as far as why your getting lankier i would say just start eating a shitload more

I'll tell you what I tell the underclassmen wrestlers. It's worked for me and I have seen it work for others.

Everything you do have a spotter, and do 5x5. You will get bigger and stronger. The first 3 reps you should do on your own. The 4th one should be hard, the 5th one you should definatly need help getting up, make sure your spotter only helps you with the bare minimium of effort.

When I spot someone and at the end of 5-10 reps they can't get it up I put two fingers under the bar and make them push with absolutly everything they have.

Do a burnout set of light weight afterwards to keep your defintion.

Hey thanks for the feedback, guys.
I've been busy with Orientation for Cal Berkeley among other things...

Anyways, my split is basically:

monday lower
tuesday upper
wednesday off
thursday lower
friday upper
saturday whatever I feel like <-forgot this one

I try and power-pack food at any opportunity, but it gets to the point where im so desperate to find something to eat that I start eating cereal and shaved coconut for example. Moms dont understand. Its quantity, not menopausal organic bullcrap.

I just got a can of GNC whey protein and some protein bars from Rakshas...
The goal is to get a little Cytogainer before long

Try setting up meals in advance or cooking chicken and rice. Man this is what i would do if i was you. Pick up a rice cooker for college and also get cooked chicken breat.

Thats what my dad told me to do for football... by a metric assload of chicken breast and bag it up so I can pull it out and cook it whenever

the nice thing is you can get the chicken breast pre cooked and frozen in strips. This way you can just throw them in with your rice when it's cooking and your set.

Well, after the past summer ended, I gave up lifting due to school, but got back in the gym on New Year's Day. I've been working out constantly ever since, and I'm up to 145.
My bench press is at an all time high, 195 (1RM). Can't yet quite lift 200, its been a major barrier.

I still want better results but I think I am hamstrung by an inability to get enough bulk amounts of food.
