What's wrong with my workout?
I go to the IU gym every afternoon.
When I get there, I've already gone through 4 bottles of water.
On an upper-body day I work out, using mostly freeweights, my arms, most of my chest, and do lat pulldowns. What's holding me back is that I can't do any exercise that mandates a spotter. Then I do the cardio.
On a lower-body day (which includes abs for some reason) I work out using all machines. This takes half as long as working my upper-body out but again, I can't do anything that requires a spotter. Then I do the cardio.
Everyday after lifting, I go on the elliptical, with Crossramp to 20/20 and Resistance to 8/20. I'm on the elliptical for 30 minutes. Then I walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes at 4 MPH with a bit of an incline. Then I hop right on the elliptical for 30 minutes with the same settings as before.
This takes a little over 2 hours. What varies is what I eat before and after. I've seen that before lifting I need to eat complex carbs, and then after working out I need simple carbs. I have no clue what this means, lol.
I've been reading that maybe I'm supposed to do Cardio in the morning, and lifing in the afternoon. Is that true?
