Default Adding muscle is easier than losing fat?

Would you agree with this statement?

I would disagree, I think it depends on the person. Some people have a hard time losing weight while some have a harder time gaining muscle. It really depends on so many factors, including family.

Count have you heard of the Set Point Theory?

Either one is difficult for me.. As a matter of fact, doing anything with my weight is difficult.

Set Point Theory? Never heard of it. I'll give it a google.

I seem to be adding muscle ok, my weight is all over the place, which is not that surprising to me.

set point, that sounds about right. I may just go for the liposuction and be done with it.

Set point theory is that your body is the most comfortable at a certain weight and your body will pretty much stay that way unless you really drastically change things.

I agree with this.

But I have also found burning fat is more difficult than building muscle.

I.e. I can build my cycling legs up after a couple weeks, but it takes a couple months to notice any sort of reduction in the beer gut.

I'm sure I'm losing fat in other areas, but it's pretty much where my fat mass is concentrated.

Damn I gotta get back on a soccer field...

Wow, not in my experience. :(

I can see muscle, and to some degree some fat loss, but the scales are not dropping proportionally.

Count have you checked your body fat percentage. That might be the best solution for you.

That probably applies to me because I can't seem to drop below 170lbs.

Doesn't stop me from trying though

I had a hard time telling when I lost weight...

What really told the tale was body fat...I lost 30 scale lbs in 4 months (down to 170 from 200). But when I stopped working out hard (I took a month off after 6 months 'on') I lost another 10 lbs(of what was most likely muscle) and went down to 160. :(
