Default I think I just pulled the one muscle that matters...

No, not _that_ muscle_

I took last week off to let my shoulder tweak and wrist tweak heal and went back in today and was doing great, felt great... 30 minutes in I was doing some curls. I upped the weight over my previous levels and was doing the last of set and "pop" and I knew something terrible just happened.

Whatever the large muscle is in your middle back, just to the right of the spine, seems to be the one muscle you don't want to mess with.

Here's a list of things (so far) that cause slight pain:

taking a deep breath... getting into or out of the car, especially a lowered 2 seater like I just happen to own... picking up a bag of groceries... turning the steering wheel to the right, even with power steering, cornering hard to the right... sitting in a chair and moving at all... getting up from a chair... sigh...

Man, I hope this is not serious and heals up pretty damn fast, I'm at risk of ending up at square one again if this lays me up for a while... damn it...

I can't really think of anything I can do, just sitting in a chair hurts... I poured 4 pots of boiling water into the tub in that provided some temporary relief, but, whatever, I pulled it pretty good... it just throbs...

lolz, just laying in bed hurts... argh, I'm so pissed... I was making good progress too...

biofreeze is the one I use. Ice packs will reduce the pain and swelling. backs are a bitch, but at least your shoulder will heal.

This might tell you to slow down and work gradually rather than 105% in the first 3 months of working out.

heal well

well, what sucks is, I kind of have taken it easy, no where near 105%

I have "eased" into this... I use less weight than I can lift, and my emphasis is on trying to keep a solid form over grunting and so forth... 3 days a week, 60-90 minutes and that includes ab stuff and cardio... I might post here frequently, but I've far from moved into the gym...

I obey pain, any tweak or twitch and I'm done...

I'm 40, I think that's the main issue here...

I just took all of a last week off cold to let my left arm get it together, and then this... what's weird is, I was standing there curling with 2 dumbbells and was using determination to get the last one up and I must have wriggled my body ever so slightly and "pop..." and I just had no idea I was using my back at all, so, it was a bit of a surprise...

I'm going to fire my trainer, since she is worthless... I'm having to learn proper form and so forth trail and error, she imparts no wisdom... I learn more by watching other people than I have from her...

I didn't realize you were 40. yeah I bet that had a lot to do with it.

I tweaked my back a few years ago running.
