Default long distance running

well ever since i started playing soccer... i've realized that i was shit at distance running. i have asthma and a fairly low lung capacity. is there any alternative to distance running or a way to make it easier for me other than just keep running? since i started working out at school i've been running a little over a mile warmup beore i workout which isn't too bad anymore... but i want to get to the point of running like 4 or 5 miles every morning.

Anytime of exercise of activity that will increase your heart rate over what your steady state is for a prolonged period of time will cause an increase in your cardio endurance. I'm going to post a program that I made for you to track all of this
