Default Men- tell me about your cario workout

I'm lifting one day and doing cardio/aerobics the next, 7 days a week.

for cardio I'm doing push ups, situps/crunches, running in place, leg lifts and toe touches, a whole lot of stretching. Once the weather is better I plan to jog/ run too on cardio days- but it's fridgid out here now.

I generally do 5 sets of each excersize in 20 reps for a total of 100 reps, rotating excersizes after 20 reps until I've done 100 of each.

Theres some things I'd like to be doing but I don't know what they are, such as lunges. Anyone tell me how to do a lunge? is it like::bdance

I noticed now that I'm working out daily alternating cardio/weights I'm not getting very sore anymore.

What are you other guys doing for your cardio?

While when I focus on cardi I always start off on a bike maybe 30 mins to 45 mins level 5-6. From there I bring it down to level 1 on a bike and go about another 5 minutes. From there I will go on a treadmil for the duration of a TV show. Then I will go take a break then come back later and do maybe a 2 mile run. This is my indoor rotuine.

Outdoors I will alternate between .5 miles and 3 miles. Always giving myself on days I can't really do a full run at least the time to do a half.

When I get bored I run drills back and forth is one set all exercises have 3. The length of half a basketball court.

1. Full sprints back and forth 3x
2. Backwards runs 3x
3. Skips 3x
4. Side shuffles 3x
5. Walk 3x
6. Hops w/ feet together 3x
7. Side lung & Squats

These exercises are done with step platforms
1. One leg on bench/ step it stays there other leg on floor. Step through with leg on floor bring it up to chest and back to floor 40x each leg

2. Alt. stepping on step/bench 40x

3. Plyo jumps 20x

my outdoor activities are just running the same route everyday, on top of whatever i do at the gym
my route is roughly 3.4 miles..so i figure im burning around 800 calories from just cardio everyday that i run outside and do cardio at the gym

When cutting I do cardio 3 days a week for 45 mins, high intensity stair-master, usually in the morning.
Calories burned are about 700 per session.

I spend 90% of my time on a bike, but (for me) the effects of running are a lot greater. I expend so much more energy running than I do on a bike.

e39, i would ask yourself what are you looking to accomplish with your cardio, then look to stay within a certain range in regards to your heart rate while exercising.

Would you say that doing decently high intensity cardio on days where you're not lifting would be detrimental to gaining strength as long as you're still taking in plenty of protien and eating a balanced carb/protien meal before the cardio?
