Wrestling is more of a standing technique in my opinion. From what I see in UFC, and espicially PRIDE, etc, is that alot of standing movements deal with wrestling. I see even the best of strikers go for a single leg, let someone try to sprawl on it, and let them go to pummel their face while they are at a low level.
The biggest differences I see in MMA from wrestling are you don't want a low stance, you dont need wrist control, and you want to be on your back; all of which I don't think would be too hard for someone to correct if they work hard at it.
Although, i really don't know shit about it, this is all back seat driving.
BTW, how well does a russian tie work in MMA?
