Default Carbohydrate's Possible Role in Overtraining

What is your thought about the possible role that carbohydrates play in overtraining. I know there are a lot of runners that are marathoners. I am no where near being a marathoner and only really have a idea about CHO and over training which i will explain. However theories constructed by exercise physiologist have been proven wrong before. The athletes body really doesn't follow the same rules as everyone else does. Here is my theroy.

A gradual depletion of the body's carbhydrate reserves with repeated strenous training may contribute to the over training syndrome. If a person ws to run 3 days in a row of 10 miles, the glycogen in their thigh muscle becomes nearly depleated. I looked into this further and found that this occured in runners whose diets contained up to 40% to 60% of total calories as carbohydrates. Also glycogen use on the 3 day avgeraged around 72% less than on the first day.
