Vitruvian's Feast or Famine Thread!!!!
I shall starve while these others feast.
Hey Everyone!
Day #1 of my entry into the competition was 3/15/07. I will be competing in the Cutting category. My goal is to prove to myself that I am capable of getting down in bodyfat like I have done years ago. I am hoping to discover some improvements in symmetry once I whittle the lard away !!!
A special thanks to Applied Nutriceuticals for sponsoring the contest, and a thanks to you for checking my thread. I'd really appreciate support, comments, questions, and criticisms, as I feel all will go a long way in helping me battle through until the end of the contest. I am halfway considering the Indianapolis Natural Show in June.. but that's a long shot. For anyone wondering how an AN rep is competing in the AN contest, it is due to the fact that YOU the viewers and consumers will be the ones deciding who wins. The contest is set up for consumer voting to choose the winners. Don and Dirk were gracious enough to welcome us to compete. To be honest, I think being a rep will be a huge disadvantage to actually winning, as the voters will most likely not want a rep to win. Either way, I'm putting in the work!

While my effective entry date is 3/15/07, I didn?t actually get to start until 3/19/07. A little vacation full of good eats made it tough to diet, and I actually gained around 2.5 lbs. during the weekend. (Water retention, plus a little extra gut I am sure)
It was one heck of a good way to say goodbye to sweets though!
Supplements:
My supplement regimen is starting out simple, with AN OsteoBolin-C daily, and Neovar utilized pre carb-rich meal. In a few weeks, I?ll be incorporating IGF-2 and Lipo-AM (currently cycled off of these). Other products on hand that may get tossed into the mix or cycled over to include NP bulk Beta Alanine capsules, ALRI Primed Ultra (pre-workout), and AN Lipo-PM. Closer to contest end when the diet gets stricter, I'll be incorporating BCAAs and Beverly Lean Out.
On an ongoing basis I'll be using Beverly proteins and Ultra 40s, Concentrate fish oil capsules, and Centrum multivitamins.
Diet:
No fads, just the tried and true. I'll try to make it as simple on me as possible, in order to make it a true lifestyle change, as opposed to a crash diet that ends abruptly.
To begin with, I am simply replacing unhealthy food items with more nutritious options. From here, I will gradually lower carb intake and restrict it to complex carbs. Water intake has been high all along, but I will try to step it up a notch. I'll have no less than 5 meals daily, with at least 1 being a protein shake.
Workouts:
I am currently working out a minimum of 3 times a week as a standard, and 5 times as a maximum, when life allows for it. Monday-legs and back, Wednesday-shoulders, bis, and tris, Saturday-chest and back. When possible, I do chest again on Tuesdays, and a lot of random stuff (rotators, forearms, etc) on Friday.
Exercises vary, as I hate being stuck in a workout routine for more than a few weeks at a time. I do however cycle back to past workouts to gauge strength/endurance gains. A current goal I have is to press 5 plates on each side of the Hammer Strength Widegrip Iso-Lateral Press.
I welcome any specific questions.
Stay tuned for steady updates on body comp. I also plan on getting more "before" pics posted up, as soon as I figure out the size restrictions, etc. the web page has. I also plan on trying to figure out these line graphs I have noticed some people have in their profiles.
That would come in handy for tracking my results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
