I'm take the side of caution on all exercises and instead of going heavy focus on the eccentric contractions of exercise really focusing on proper form. The way I see if if your not a comp power lifter their really isn't a need to go so heavy where you would need to wrap your knees. Also properception will be diminished while having your knees wraped at least that is my opinion and I really haven't read to much research regarding the implications of wraping knees.
