if it tastes "good," like damn, I could eat another one of those, then that's kind of a red flag...
Our tongues are conditioned to think that salt/msg and sugar are what tastes good in a kinda a compulsive kinda way...
I'm adjusting to eating better, which largely means a little less of the flavors that I'm used to, not that better food tastes bad, it's just a little more subtle and natural with the flavor.
When it doubt, read the ingredients list, if it's heavy on the hydrogenated and corn syrups and so forth... pass.
The main reason I think sugar is bad is that it wreaks havoc on your blood sugar levels, which seem to be, according to my feeble understanding of the situation, where the false cravings for things come from.
